South African National Defence Force (SANDF) Participation in the National Civic Remembrance Service and Wreath Laying Ceremony: 14 November 2010

On Sunday 14 November 2010 at 14h00 for 15h00, the SANDF will participate in a parade of the 90th Annual National Civic Remembrance Service and wreath-laying ceremony at the Cenotaph in Harrison Street, Johannesburg. The main functionary for this historic event will be the Chief of the South African Army, Lieutenant General Solly Shoke.

The City of Johannesburg hosts the 90th Annual National Civic Remembrance Day Service to pay tribute to the South Africans who lost their lives in honour of their country.

The streets of Johannesburg will come to a stand still when a colourful marching order comprising of SANDF Regular and Reserve Forces elements, South African Police Service, Johannesburg Metro Police Detachment, JHB Emergency Services Detachment, Ex-Service organisations including Gunners Association, Ex MK, APLA, AZANLA, SA Infantry Association, Royal Naval Association and SA Air Force Association, element of the Youth Volunteer Organisations, SA Red Cross, Noodhulpliga, Boys Scouts, Girl Guides, School children and elements of the Fire Brigade with a six gun salute by Transvaal Horse Artillery.

Approximately three hundred SANDF members will participate in this event.
